Motivational Speech for women
“Place food security and climate change prevention in the hands of Food & Trees for Africa”. Women are the most people who are involved in Permaculture and environmental greening activities throughout the World. Women play an import role in the up bringing of the children, its women who knows that children are hungry, its women who knows that there is no food in the kitchen and its women who know that they have to go out and grow food to feed their families. Women are the strongest pillars of agricultural, Permaculture and economical developmental activities in our society.
I have been training and establishing Permaculture food garden projects in the most disadvantaged communities for 15 years, in Zimbabwe, Botswana, Swaziland and South Africa. In South Africa Food & Trees for Africa was established in 1990. The organisation facilitated 100s and thousands of permaculture food garden and environmental greening projects throughout the country and beyond the borders. The majority of people involved in these projects are women. Women are the most powerful people on earth, they can turn dust, sandy soil and unproductive pieces of land into a magnificent green food forest, which can feed the whole family and generate income to pay School fees for children.
I would like to a plea to you that days are completely gone when people rely on formal employment as the only source of income. The Government can not come to your doorstep and provide you with employment, let’s start projects in our community and meet the Government halfway. Food & Trees for Africa promotes creative approach to self-empowerment and employment through various initiatives in the country. Permaculture and environmental greening projects where most women are involved proven to be the most effective means of income generating because of its use of readily available natural resources.
Women are the only source of our agricultural and economic growth in the country. Women are life-supporting elements and are involved in HIV/AIDS awareness programmes and food security for the whole nation. Drugs are not effective to HIV/AIDS people, unless natural organic food security is addressed in the country.
Today we have women who have adopted Food & Trees for Africa culture of converting natural resources into visible production of products such as vegetables, herbs and fruit-trees to form a long term and short-term production. These women are now self-employed and are generating enough income to sustain the needs of their families and are seen today proud of their achievement.
It is always a great joy to my soul to work for Food and Trees for Africa that focusing on sustainable natural resource management, food security through Permaculture, poverty alleviation, environmental greening, capacity building and skills development in South African communities. It’s always a great fulfilment to work for Food & Trees for Africa, the organisation that put community and environmental development in the heart.
Let’s build our nation and let’s work together and form constructive partnership with those who like to develop our country. Please do not hesitate to contact FTFA, and other relevant organisations for assistance. We are here to work together for the betterment of our country and our nation.
Halala FTFA Halala !!!!!!!!!!!!
I thank you all.
